Front Ensemble Staff

Erick is a front ensemble educator and arranger living in the Southern California area. After graduating from Don Lugo HS, Erick performed with Pulse Percussion from 2014-2017. He has taught at numerous groups throughout Southern California including Walnut HS, Chino Hills HS, Sierra Vista HS, Townsend JHS, Velocity Percussion, and many more. In addition to his career as an educator, Erick has designed and continues to arrange multiple shows for groups including Sierra Vista HS, Alta Loma HS, Baldwin Park HS, Walnut HS, and Velocity Percussion.

This will be Erick’s 2nd year with Elan.

Stella Cortez is a front ensemble educator from Los Angeles, California. Her involvement in the marching arts began in high school and since then she’s been a front ensemble member at Meraki Percussion (2020) and POW Percussion (2022). She studied music education (percussion) at CSUN and she’s currently teaching at Rancho Alamitos High School and Trabuco Hills High School.

This will be Stella’s 1st year with Elan.

Steven Devoe is a charter member of Elan and returned for a second season in 2016. Steven works with Citrus Valley high school and Clement middle school. He proudly performed with Pacific Crest in 2013&2017, Gold in 2016 and Broken City in 2017&2018. Steven likes Pokémon.

This will be Steven’s 1st year with Elan.

For 8 years, Marcus has been a percussion educator, performer, composer and arranger based out of Southern California. In that time, he has performed with groups like Impulse, Gold, Orange County Independent, Odyssey Indoor Percussion, Gold Indoor Percussion and aged out in 2020 with Vessel Indoor Percussion. Marcus has taught groups such as The Academy Drum & Bugle Corps, Meraki, Dorothy McElhinney Middle School, Chaparral High School among many others. He currently works as Front Ensemble Caption Head for Warren High School and Charter Oak High School as well as Battery Caption Head for Citrus Valley High School.

This will be Marcus’s 1st year with Elan.
